My name is Lori Klucznik and I am very excited to be part of the Room 14 Teaching Team. I grew up in Chicago but moved to Indiana recently. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and have been teaching/tutoring for the past ten years. I am certified to teach grades Kindergarten to 9 in Illinois and will begin working to transfer that certification over to Indiana within the next year. My experiences have taken me from an after school tutoring/mentoring program in Chicago’s Logan Square area to an art-education based school in the heart of downtown Chicago.
I enjoy using the curriculum used at Woodland as it gives me the opportunity to plan and create different manipulatives to use in our areas. Often, I have seen a game in a catalog or an idea in a book and thought, I can do that! I hope to instill in young learners the idea that they too can “do that” and to not compare themselves to others, as what they do is their best and with time and practice, we all get better!
